It doesn’t matter if you’re the rugged outdoors type or the executive office type; everybody loves the performance of a Jeep Liberty. The new Jeep Liberty is loaded with a lot of the unique features you have come to love in America’s favorite mid-size SUV. This time, the Jeep Liberty has bested its competitors with both power and special features. With model ranges starting from the Sport, Latitude and Trailhawk trims, the features seem to stack up leading to the flagship model, the Limited.

The flagship Limited model comes with features that blows the competition out of the water. Aside from coming in both 4×2 and 4×4 wheel drives, you can enjoy some very unique features:

The model has a base price $25,495.00 MSRP, slightly pricier than the Ford Escape, which is at $24,495.00 MSRP but more affordable than the Subaru Forester at $27,326.00 MSRP.

When weighing the pros and cons of choosing the right SUV for you, you might want to look in to what the Jeep Liberty has in store. For starters, it features a 2.4 liter Tigershark I4 engine, which can go a whopping 31 MPG with a driving range of 495 miles The engine produces 187 PS (184 hp) Its main competition, the Subaru Forester, only clocks in at 170 hp.

If you are really into power, the Jeep Liberty boasts an optional 3.2 Pentastar V6 with 271 hp, which is big muscle for a compact crossover. Meanwhile, the Subaru Forester offers a 250-hp 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder in XT models.

While the Liberty’s strength is in its power, it does go up to 22 mpg city/31 mpg on the highway. The Subaru Forester offers up to 24 miles per gallon in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Looking at the pros and cons, power is indeed a priority compared to fuel efficiency when you select a Jeep Liberty.

One of the most important features of any vehicle is safety. In crash tests carried out by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Jeep Liberty earned a perfect 5-star overall rating. As for its safety features, you’ll be glad to know that it has your standard forward-collision alert with automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, a blind spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert, plus a few extras like an available automated parking system and automatic high beams.

The Jeep Liberty offers the optional 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine which achieves 29 MPG and produces 275 PS (202 kW; 271 hp). The Liberty is Chrysler’s first product to feature the all-new engine. On top of that, it also features The Active Drive II 4X4 system with off-road suspension. All Jeep Libertys have a ZF-developed 9 speed automatic transmission. Not only is the Liberty the first Chrysler SUV vehicle to feature a nine-speed transmission, it is the first sport utility vehicle to feature a nine-speed transmission.

If you are thinking of taking your jet ski to the lake, Jeep Liberty features a 3.517:1 final drive ratio and can pull a whopping 4,500 lb.

All Liberty models use Selec-Terrain in all of the four wheel drive models. Over all, the Jeep Liberty bests its competitors in terms of features and benefits.

The Future of the Liberty

You will be glad to know that early this year, the Overland was anointed by Jeep to replace the Liberty as its new flagship model. The Overland will also boast the powerful standard 184-hp 2.4L Tigershark 4-Cylinder engine or the optional 271-hp 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine.

As this happens they will add more of the unique features you love in addition to the previously top-of-the-line Limited trim level, which includes eye candy like Color-Keyed Front and Rear Fascias and Rear Wheel Wells, plus 18-inch polished alloy rims.

The vehicle becomes an audiophile’s dream with the patented UConnect with 8.4 in display Infotainment System, a Garmin GPS navigation system, A2DP for wireless Stereo Audio, 9-speaker Alpine Premium Sound System (506 Watts) with External Amplifier, Rear-Mounted Subwoofer, Surround Sound and Graphic Equalizer. Of course it will also include the standard iPod/USB Ports and 3.5 mm auxiliary input, MicroSD slot and Bluetooth for Hands-free calling. In addition to this, you can ride in complete comfort with “Nappa”/”Axis II” ventilated Leather-Trimmed Perforated Seating Surfaces and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

Front wheel drive models will be priced at $34,695.00 MSRP, while 4WD will be priced at $38,395.00.
